This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL.Position Overview:The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, see the battle develop collectively, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.This position is for the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) System. The selected applicant will consume use cases and systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of Epics and Features, to implement customer-requested capabilities.Essential Functions:Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.Support junior systems engineering team members to enhance their skills in the department.Be flexible to support various tasks on short notice.Work under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and interface with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within available resources.Have specific roles on a program regarding use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition through a structured and logical approach.Analyze high-level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, effectively communicate and present technical approaches and findings, and implement engineering plans within a project.Support the TO38 SE Task Instruction and Inc10 and beyond systems engineering needs on MBSE and general systems engineering.Basic Qualifications:An active Secret clearance is required to start.14 years with a STEM Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field; 12 years with a STEM Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field; or 18 years experience in lieu of a degree.Experience in developing, integrating, and supporting large-scale software-intensive systems.Adhere to DOORS processes and procedures, review technical products, act as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts, and be involved in Agile development efforts.Experience with complex command and control systems, mission analysis, performance analysis, requirements solicitation, decomposition, management, and modeling to testing and verification.Demonstrated experience developing models to drive solutions in complex systems, with specific expertise in DoDAF and SysML methodology.Experience in developing key diagram types to create logical and physical models that depict static and dynamic behavior, performance, element interactions, internal and external interfaces, states, and modes.Extensive experience in transitioning a mature and evolving project into MBSE.Experience managing multiple product baselines using Cameo (or Magic Draw), Enterprise Architect, and Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements (DOORs).Ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) System.Experienced user of the DOORS tool for requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components.Maintain system and component baselines in a requirement management system.Define the relationships between internal and external components.Communicate system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.Generate system/element-level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of desired capabilities.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with cybersecurity, the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and network design.Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation.Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition.Some travel is required.What We Can Offer You:Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
