About the Role:We re looking for talented and motivated Mobile iOS engineers with 8+ years of experience. As a mobile engineer, you ll be responsible for developing features and functionality, owning and scaling shared services, staying up to date with all things iOS while advocating for the best practices, tooling, etc, and working closely with other partner teams such as Payroll, Benefits, HR, identity, security, system design, and infrastructure. We are launching a native mobile app experience for one of our most important users, the small business owner, and scaling a platform that other teams will use to solve small business problems. Here s what you ll do day-to-day:Architect, build, test, and refine Gusto s native iOS app and supporting mobile web-viewsBuild, iterate, and refine product feature offerings that allow employers to perform core business functions such as running payroll, managing expenses, and moreCollaborate with our product management, design, and other partner teams to understand technical and customer pain points, come up with solutions, and then prototype, iterate, and launchWork cross-functionally with various product apps, identity, security, design systems, and infrastructure to bring world-class experiences to our customers handsBuild and scale core services such as push-notification system, localization, etcImprove and maintain iOS and Mobile infrastructure such as build-pipelines, testing automation, release process, etc.Build a product that our customers genuinely love. Don't just take our word for it - check out what some customers have to say.Here s what we're looking for:At least 5 years of Swift-iOS software engineering experience and at least 8 years of Mobile software engineering experienceStrong communication and cross-functional partnership skillsSelf-driven mindset, and the ability to work on green field projectsWorking knowledge of MVVMExperience with iOS testing frameworks and best practicesExperience in constructing platform and common components to enhance scalability, consistency, and maintainability throughout the product development lifecycleStrong critical thinking skills, and a keen attention to detailWillingness to learn, and mentor others Bonus Points: Ability to deliver high-quality code across a diverse tech stackStrong knowledge of SwiftUI and/or GraphQLFamiliarity with analytics and monitoring toolsFamiliarity with mobile infrastructure such as CI/CD, automated test environments, build & release systems, etc.Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, setting milestones and deliverables for the teamOur cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $225,000-$245,000 for San Francisco, Seattle & New York and $185,000-$205,000 for Denver. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
