Staff Research Scientist
Our client, a cutting-edge AI startup is seeking a Staff Research Scientist to advance state-of-the-art methodologies and drive impactful research that sets new benchmarks in the field of LLMs and Code Generation. As a fast-growing company backed by leading investors, we focus on developing AI systems capable of sophisticated data reasoning. Our team has a history of breaking new ground, including top leaderboard achievements and the filing of multiple foundational patents. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving research initiatives aimed at improving benchmarking and leaderboarding performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead research projects that push the boundaries of model performance and set new standards in the field.
- Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to develop novel algorithms and enhance existing methodologies.
- Interpret research findings to inform and shape future projects.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in areas like LLM agents (e.g., MCTSr, STaR/Quiet-STaR, PRM) and incorporate cutting-edge methods into our research.
- Collaborate with product teams to transition research insights into production-ready solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Passion for advancing the field and setting record-breaking benchmarks.
- Deep understanding of machine learning principles with a first-principles research approach.
- Proven track record in creating or improving machine learning methods.
- Proficient in Python and other relevant programming languages for ML research.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Experience with reinforcement learning, LLM fine-tuning, or RLHF is highly desirable.

Work Arrangement
- Our team is primarily based in NYC, with most members working onsite several days a week. Relocation assistance is available.
