Job SummaryResponsible for the timely and accurate verification of all medication orders and safely prepares medications and other pharmaceuticals for dispensing to patients of BMC, its clinics and all eligible employees. Researches, educates and communicates drug information to physicians, house staff, nurses, other healthcare providers and patients/families. Is knowledgeable of automated medication dispensing process/reports and adheres to all applicable departmental and hospital policies/procedures.Experience
- One to two year's hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience with computer operations, unit dose drug dispensing systems, IV admixture and parenteral chemotherapy admixture experience preferred.
Education and Training
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited college or pharmacy.
License, Certification & Registration
- MAPHARM - Licensed MA Pharmacist.
Other Requirements
- Must demonstrate ability to work independently, without direct supervision required, within established policy.
