Job Description:
Friday Harbor Drug is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Pharmacist to join our close-knit team. As a key member of our pharmacy, you will provide exceptional pharmaceutical care and personalized service to our patients. In this role, you'll be responsible for dispensing medications, offering expert advice on health and wellness, and building meaningful relationships with our customers. Responsibilities: Oversees daily Pharmacy operations Manage all Pharmacy operations, including staff management, workflow, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standard Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, DEA regulations, and Washington State Pharmacy Board requirements. Medication Dispensing: Oversee the accurate dispensing of medications, including prescription review, verification, and patient consultations. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory, including ordering medications and supplies while minimizing waste and managing expired medications. Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure safe and effective pharmacy practices. Provide comprehensive counseling to patients regarding medication use, drug interactions, and side effects. Staff Supervision and Training: Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff. Ensure proper training and adherence to policies Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication therapy. Financial Management: Manage pharmacy budget, including billing, reimbursement, and cost-effective practices. Ensure Safe Pharmacy Practices: Establish protocols for controlled substances management, patient safety initiatives, and accurate record-keeping Minimum Qualifications: PharmD Degree:Graduation from an accredited pharmacy school with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree State License: Active and unrestricted Washington State pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain one before start date. Immunization Certification:** Certified to administer vaccines, as required by Washington state law. Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a pharmacist, with 1-2 years of experience in a management or leadership role. Strong Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Preferred Qualifications: Pharmacist-in-Charge Experience Prior experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or managing a pharmacy location Knowledge of pharmacy financials, inventory control, and cost-saving initiatives. Familiarity with community-based pharmacy practice, especially in rural or underserved areas.
