Job Summary - Participates in shipping and delivery of prescriptions, including cold chain processes. Facilitates safe and effective medication use including dispensing medications, entering and verifying medication orders, preparing IV admixtures, supervising technician duties, researching acquisition and therapeutic issues, monitoring outcomes of therapies, documenting interventions and performance improvement activities, and supporting a safe and nurturing environment for all employees to reach their potential. This pharmacist will be an active participant in growth initiatives across the spectrum. Interdisciplinary engagement and establishment of new service lines is within the scope of this position and this pharmacist will contribute to the care of all specialty patient populations. The pharmacist will provide education to specialty patients. In the pharmacy, this pharmacist will facilitate efficient drug distribution and preparation of medications to patients served. This pharmacist will assist in managing the activities of a team of pharmacy technicians, verify orders, serve as a drug information resource for patients, nurses and medical staff, and maintain skills and knowledge by attending required educational in-services and skills development classes.
