The Cardiac/EP Cath Lab Nurse Coordinators primary duty is to manage the care and treatment of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization diagnostic, interventional, and cardiac arrhythmias in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. The nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment. The nurse acts as a liaison between the patient, family, physicians, catheterization staff, and Heart Center program. The nurse is responsible for identification of cardiac dysrhythmias, assisting with the management and treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias, pacemakers, and/or defibrillators, schedules procedures, provides admission and discharge instructions, and counsels patients and families throughout the process.Education:
