Teresian House Center for the Elderly is looking for responsible, caring Registered Nurse to help manage the units in our 300 bed facility. This person will create and maintain a work environment that promotes and fosters a resident centered care model with a team approach. In conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team, this person will oversee the care of all residents on his/her neighborhood including overseeing and contributing to recording of all documentation on units including intake and output, weights, ambulation logs, etc. This person will initiate and complete all investigations of incidents on unit within five (5) calendar days of discovery, or may assign designee in his/her absence. Ensures that proper documentation is completed. Keeps Nursing Administration aware of all investigations and submits completed investigations to Nursing Administration. This person will also ensure work schedules are completed for all team members according to approved budgetary guidelines. Incumbent will also monitor the units (by making rounds , conduct audits, or complete surveys, etc.) to assure that all personnel are utilizing appropriate techniques regarding accident/incident prevention; sanitation; infection control; fire safety; disaster preparedness and emergency care. Informs Administration, Nursing Administration, Infection Control Team, or other appropriate people of concerns. Qualified RN candidates will have graduated at a State approved school of nursing, Associate's/Bachelor's Degree preferred, and have a current license as Registered Nurse in New York State and at least one year experience in a Long-Term Care supervisory/manager capacity preferred. This person should be able to demonstrate organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, knowledge of Infection Control Policies and Procedures and ability to make decisions independently within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
