You will help set and model high standards for quality of contributions, technical leadership, commitment to the improvement of the customer experience, the quality of our platforms, and the growth and development of the reliability engineering team.Key Qualifications:7+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or Cloud Engineering experienceDeep experience with observability and alerting technologies, such as:Application Performance Management (e.g. NewRelic, DataDog)Centralized Logging (e.g. Splunk, ELK or EFK stacks, Sentry, Rollbar)Monitoring and Incident Response (e.g. Prometheus, CloudWatch)Observability Dashboards (e.g. Grafana, CloudWatch)5+ years of software development using any of the following languages: Python, Golang5+ years of building scalable services on AWS, with emphasis on containerization & orchestration, service discovery, and telemetry5+ years of Linux systems administration experienceSIgnificant experience using Infrastructure-as-code deployment patterns (preferred: Terraform)Experience designing and building services intended to be used by other engineersExperience diagnosing, profiling, and resolving performance issuesProficiency with source control management repositories (emphasis on Git) and version-control best practicesGeneral understanding of modern networking and information security practices10+ years of overall industry experience(Nice to have) Familiarly with DevOps or DevSecOps philosophies and tools(Nice to have) Familiarity with any of the following languages: Java, Typescript, Kotlin(Nice to have) Quality Assurance experienceRole Description:Maintain critical central platforms used to serve customer-facing trafficDesign and develop services, systems, and tools to enable modern service reliability processes and practicesChampion development and adoption of reusable reliability patternsEnsure service architecture aligns with user and business needsBring expertise in investigation and resolution of complex technical problems within the organizationMaintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate the applicability of new software technologiesDrive innovation at a software product level and contribute ideas to the product roadmapMentor junior team membersBuild a culture of pride and ownership over code quality, scalable architecture, security, and data privacyYour Life and Career at Saks:Be a part of an entrepreneurial team hyper focused on massive growthConvenient and collaborative modern offices in Lower Manhattan with onsite perksBenefits package for all eligible full-time employees (including medical, vision and dental)An amazing employee discountThank you for your interest with Saks.
