LOCATION SUMMARY:

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY:

Works collaboratively with the Department Manager and Director to ensure the planning, coordination and provision of nursing care to patients on specified units and shifts. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to nursing and ancillary personnel, commensurate with their scope of practice. Shall provide clinical expertise in all patient care areas and promotes the use of best practices. Participates in staff selection, performance evaluations, quality improvement, and mentoring of staff. Facilitates training of new team members on policies, procedures, and to ensure adherence to department practices. Assists in achieving budgetary goals while maintaining staffing, equipment, and supply requirements. Assists in managing projects/initiatives as delegated by department Manager or Director. Facilitates Lean Daily Management activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position: Preferred

Education and Work Experience:

  • Three years of full-time clinical nursing experience with a minimum of one-year neonatal nursing in a level III/IV NICU: Required
  • BSN and either a master's in a related field or certificate in nursing or health care administration from a nationally recognized accrediting organization: Required
  • Previous clinical supervisor experience acute care setting: Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association: Required
  • PALS through the American Heart Association: Required
  • NRP: Required
  • Current State of California RN license: Required
  • RNC-NIC within 6 months of hire or transfer: Required

ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
