Requirements and Competencies Must have a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine Must hold a valid U.S Veterinary License Must qualify for Florida Veterinary License and USDA Accreditation certification Must have experience with veterinary care and management of zoological species with specialization in aquatic animals and birds. This may include post-doctoral training or a minimum of two years of full-time practical experience. Must have experience in management of personnel and veterinary facilities Must have a valid state drivers license Desired Qualifications Board eligibility or Diplomat status in the American College of Zoological Medicine preferred Primary Responsibilities Responsible for the maintenance and management of all aspects of collection animal health for SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove including diagnosis and treatment of disease, preventative medicine programs, and nutrition As part of various programs, oversee medical care of rescued wildlife including manatees, birds, sea turtles, and cetaceans Shares responsibility for the management of veterinary support staff and Animal Rescue team Consults and educates the animal staff and management in areas of health and husbandry.
