Staffing Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:
The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for staffing of Certified Nursing Assistants and/or Licensed Nurses. Assists DON in staffing appropriately licensed/certified employees through preparation and maintenance of daily and monthly schedules as staffing needs arise. Identifies staffing needs to DON and interacts to determine the desires of staff toaid in recruitment and retention.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ongoing and in-depth understanding of the financial modules used to support processes and patient care in our EMR.
· Participates as a member of the Recruitment and Retention committee.
· Participates in the recruitment and hiring of all employees.
· Maintains current phone contact information for nursing department employees.
· Meets with Administrator and DON daily to review previous, current and future staffing pattern status; in addition, reviews staffing requirements and staffing/hiring needs.
· Develops, implements, and coordinates the day-to-day scheduling and assignments of nursing staff consistent with PPD management and minimum staffing requirements.
· On call availability for staffing needs that may arise.
· Complies with laws and regulations applicable to position and acts in accordance with Villa's Corporate Compliance Program.
· Attends and participates in in-service training, performance improvement (“QPI”) committees and other meetings as scheduled and directed.
· Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy.
· Assists in orientation and training of employees as assigned. Plans, schedules and implements general orientation if needed.
· Maintains inventory and issues uniforms to newly hired employees.
· Follows facility dress and hygiene policies.
· May maintain records of all in-servicing for all staff.
· Performs other staff education duties as required or directed for compliance with State and Federal Regulations.
· Monitors labor hours to ensure scheduled hours don't exceed budgeted work hours.
· Tracks absences and reason for absences and communicates with the Infection Control coordinator.
· Submits for approval vacation / bonus information to payroll.
· (May not apply to all in this position): Maintains inventory of supplies; submits orders and processes invoices.
· Ensure that all elements of the facility's Abuse & Neglect policies are maintained and enforced.

· Must possess sensitivity in understanding employees' needs while maintaining a sense of balance to ensure that staffing requirements are met for the facility.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
· +1 year of Point Click Care (PCC) Experience (required).
· Prior experience working with the elderly and / or in long term care (preferred).
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
· Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
· Meet all health requirements as needed.
