FTE: 0.9, Shift: Day, Schedule: 7:30am-7:30pm, rotating weekends
Position Summary
Coordinates, prioritizes and optimizes patient flow activities throughout Yakima Valley Memorial; Coordinates and facilitates patients' entry into an inpatient setting from other health care facilities.
Responsible for timecard edits through the timekeeper tool. Assists with data entry and report retrieval.
Assists the House Supervisors with daily tasks involving bed placement, staffing and patient throughput.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Facilitates transfers into the organization from other facilities, direct admits and planned admissions.
* Connects physicians for consults with said transfer requests, collects and enters data for transfers. Using the bed tracking system, facilitates placement of patients in conjunction with the House Supervisor, Shift Coordinators and all other applicable staff and units.
* Have a strong knowledge of unit skill sets, expertise and levels of care to place patients safely and efficiently to enhance patient throughput and patient satisfaction. Generates the daily communicator staffing sheets from nursing units.
* Manages and updates the daily call list used throughout the organization.
* Generates several reports and distributes among appropriate personnel.
* Assists House Supervisor with phone calls, faxes, inquiries to surrounding hospitals for census and bed capacity information, assists with other miscellaneous tasks.
* Assists with employee Timekeeper edits and corrections.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Associates degree in medical office or related field preferred.
Experience Two years of medical office experience required. Medical terminology course or experience preferred.

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $17.87 - $25.72 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
