Metalex, powered by UPG, is a growing steel service center that has been in business for almost 60 years. Metalex is looking hire a Stamping Engineer. An ideal candidate has strong function/technical skills, the ability to problem-solve and make good decisions. The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Director of Operations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain product set up and documentation including part numbers, part descriptions, BOMs, labor rates, etc.
  • Maintain engineering change notices
  • Conduct time studies, determining manufacturing process times and capacities
  • Utilize product drawings, specifications, and other engineering data to develop processes
  • Support stamping manufacturing operations
  • Determine the sequence of steps in manufacturing processes, such as: manufacturing costing, fabrication, and assembly, along with all elements required to complete product development while meeting safety, quality, and cost goals
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Five years of engineering experience preferred
  • 5 years of previous stamping experience
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
