Standup Forklift Driver Job Description- Mission, TXKey ResponsibilitiesForklift OperationSafely operate a stand-up forklift (reach truck, order picker, or similar equipment) to move products or materials within the warehouse.Transport materials between storage locations, shipping/receiving docks, and assembly or packing areas.Stack and arrange goods in designated areas, ensuring that they are safely and securely stored.Load and unload pallets or goods from trucks or conveyors.Inventory ManagementAccurately pick, store, and transport inventory using the forklift, ensuring proper stock placement and retrieval.Assist with cycle counts, inventory checks, and shelf organization to maintain accurate stock levels.Ensure that products are placed in the correct location based on warehouse layout and labeling systems.Order FulfillmentRetrieve items for customer orders or production requirements using a stand-up forklift and assist in preparing them for packing and shipping.Pick and deliver inventory to designated areas for order processing, ensuring that the correct products and quantities are selected.Ensure that all items are scanned or logged into the warehouse management system (WMS) for inventory tracking.Loading and UnloadingLoad goods into trucks or containers for shipment, ensuring proper stacking and securing to prevent damage during transit.Unload incoming shipments, inspecting materials for damage or defects, and storing them appropriately.Assist in organizing incoming goods to optimize warehouse storage and workflow.Safety ComplianceFollow all safety protocols and operational procedures when using the forklift and other warehouse equipment.Maintain awareness of surroundings, including other workers, to prevent accidents or injuries.Inspect the forklift and other equipment daily for safety and operational issues, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.Wear appropriate safety gear, such as a hard hat, safety shoes, and high-visibility clothing, when required.Warehouse OrganizationEnsure that aisles, shelves, and storage areas are free of obstacles and are accessible for smooth forklift operations.Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to optimize workflow and reduce risks of accidents.Help to maintain a clutter-free workspace by disposing of packaging materials and waste.Equipment MaintenancePerform basic maintenance on the forklift (e.g., checking fluid levels, cleaning, etc.) to ensure safe and efficient operation.Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions with forklifts to the maintenance team for repairs.Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with warehouse staff, including order pickers, packers, and supervisors, to ensure timely order fulfillment and smooth operations.Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory levels, order updates, and warehouse needs.Product HandlingHandle materials and goods in accordance with their specifications, especially delicate or fragile items, to prevent damage.Follow proper procedures for storing hazardous materials, if applicable, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.Other DutiesAssist in other warehouse functions as needed, such as inventory restocking, packaging, or general support.Assist in loading/unloading trucks manually if required or when forklift operations are not possible.Skills and QualificationsForklift Certification: Valid certification for operating stand-up forklifts (reach trucks, order pickers, etc.), typically issued by OSHA or a similar certifying body.Experience: Previous experience in operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse setting is typically required.Safety Awaren
