UNC-Chapel Hill offers full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package, paid leave, and a variety of health, life and retirement plans and additional programs that support a healthy work/life balance.Primary Purpose of Organizational UnitThis work unit of the Office of Medical Education administers simulated clinical learning experiences and assessments to students within the School of Medicine and to any other UNG school or department seeking opportunities for learners to develop, apply, and test their skills through practical application. We utilize various technology driven simulators, standardized patients, and human patient simulation to assess and teach the necessary clinical skills to upcoming medical doctors. The Clinical Skills and Patient Simulation Center (CSPSC) also provides services to the UNC Health Care System, other health affairs professional schools, and regional health education entities.The UNC School of Medicine has a rich tradition of excellence and care. We will foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic, and population research.Position SummaryThe position provides support through the recruitment and scheduling of Standardized Patients (SPs) for all events that take place in or are organized through the Center, namely clinical skills assessments across UNG, including but not limited to learners in the Schools of Medicine (including PA Program and other Allied Health Sciences), Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health, Social Work, and resident physicians in the healthcare system, and some research projects relating to medical education administration.Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Required Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceThe job requires strong management abilities in two areas: people skills (to interview, hire, assign, and manage the standardized patients, and to assist with training as needed) and organizational/logistical skills (to manage a highly complex schedule of training and testing). It is essential for candidates to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs. The ability to work collaboratively and within a closely integrated team is essential.Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceDepartment prefers candidates with management experience and/or experience working in medical education. Prefer candidates with basic understanding of medical terminology and clinical experience. Basic understanding of research techniques and principles preferred.
