Operations Manager Job DescriptionStarboard Logistics, LLC is a well-established, local logistics company seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to drive operational excellence and lead our diverse team of Delivery Associates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Logistics leadership roles, managing people, driving key performance indicators (KPI's), and a deep passion for making a difference in the lives of their teammates and the community in which we serve. As an Operations Manager, you will be managing a large team of Delivery Associate drivers on a day-to-day basis, and partnering with Amazon and other members of the Starboard Logistics leadership team to promote our corporate culture, optimize operations, and deliver exceptional performance metrics. Work location: 450 General Doolittle Drive. Jacksonville, FL 32250 Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 100+ drivers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to maximize performance.
  • Ensure compliance to all Amazon and Starboard Logistics, LLC delivery operations policies and procedures
  • Lead staff meetings with leadership team
  • Represent the DSP owner in various situations such as in business meetings and other interactions with Amazon, vendors and local officials
  • Roster drivers to their delivery routes
  • Create, publish, and maintain the team's work schedule
  • Write and deliver performance reviews and corrective action notices to drivers and junior leadership staff positions
  • Analyze data and other information to make data-driven decisions in the execution of your roles
  • Utilize software systems and technology tools such as for dispatching, team communications, and fleet maintenance
  • Drive cargo vans when necessary for on the road support and services such as taking over delivery routes or performing fleet work.
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of leadership and general management experience within an Operations environment (preferably within the Last Mile Delivery industry).
  • Bachelor's and/or graduate degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred (Equivalent experience will be considered).
  • Ability to anticipate and formulate strategies with executable tactics.
  • Time oriented and punctual to get tasks done no matter what.
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and motivate teams, driving a culture of operational excellence.
  • Proficient using logistics software, systems, and tools.
  • Familiarity with Amazon DSP operations or prior experience at Amazon DSP is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with exceptional organizational skills to ensure smooth operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels to achieve targeted results.
  • Ability to work across multiple areas of the company.
  • Experienced using Microsoft Excel - particularly interpreting results, evaluating trends and making decisions in combination with other data points.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Sprinter Cargo and Electric Delivery Van vehicles to coordinate maintenance and repair work with vendors and mechanics.
