Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Work with Director of Wine & Spirits to achieve budgeted revenues, costs of sales and operational costs, including shipping, packaging and other operational supplies.
* Oversee selection of wine inventory to maximize revenue potential.
* Book, plan and execute buyout events, including overseeing execution of excellent service.
* Maintain and organize wine presentations on the sales floor and in the back of the house.
* Greet and assist customers with product information and needs.
* Provide personal shopping assistance for guests in the lounge, as well as phone and email inquiries. Create and publish a monthly newsletter.
* Maintain client database and relationships, develop new client base through follow up correspondence and world class service.
* Collect and understand customers' wine preferences and regularly offer wines that might be of interest
* Organize and coordinate tasting events and classes for local customers
* Use guest feedback through comment cards, personal or staff interaction, to ensure service levels and departmental direction are the benchmark for the industry.
* Maintain files of all transactions, inclusive of sales, payments and transfers
* Ensure accurate and timely inventory submission to Accounting. Responsible for taking of and reconciling physical inventory with counts, costs, promotions and loss.
* Process of all invoices, transfers and merchandise loss to accounting.
* Assist in the development of yearly budget forecast, and profit and loss statements.
* Supervise daily activities and responsibilities of the staff both at Stave Wine Cellar and the Lead Sales Associate at the Pebble Beach Market.
* Manage, coach and counsel staff as necessary.
* Provide training and development of the staff with regard to wine and beer product knowledge.
* Meet with Director of Wine & Spirits regularly regarding inventory management and purchases, client relations, day to day operations and long-term vision.
* Resolve all guest issues in a timely manner. Inform Director of all incidents and their resolution. Keep accurate records of such incidents.
* Inform Director of all issues regarding sales, general operations, inventory challenges or other potential issues.
* Monitor the condition of the facility. Report housekeeping items to the Manager.
* Uphold all Pebble Beach Company regulations regarding Code of Conduct and employment policies.
Required Skills:
* Exceptional communication and multitasking skills.
* Flexible scheduling: ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
* Microsoft Office Suite, POS, EATEC, IG.
* Great organizational and time management skills necessary.
* Minimum two years' resort or hotel experience, Front of House or Reservations.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Introductory Level Sommelier certification required.
Desired Skills:
* Certified Level Sommelier preferred.
* Two years of experience in management or a supervisory role preferred.
