River Crossing YMCA is looking to hire a Stay & Play Caregiver!

Stay & Play Caregiver Salary: $11.00 per hour

Stay & Play Caregiver Hours: Available shifts: Monday - Friday 5pm - 7:30pm, Saturday 9am - 11am

Stay & Play Caregiver Responsibilities:

  • Implements and participates in activities that develop youth within the established guidelines
  • Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families
  • Supervises the children, program space, and all activities including following all procedures and standards
  • Maintains a healthy and safe environment for the participating children in Child Watch and/or Summer Fun Club
  • Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents
  • Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA
  • Maintains program site and equipment
  • Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
  • Disseminates concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Helps to promote other YMCA activities and programs
  • Maintains required safety practices (e.g., bathroom procedures, sign-in /out procedures, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Stay & Play Caregiver Qualifications:

  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within thirty (30) days of hire date
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
  • Minimum age of sixteen (16) is required
  • Ability to implement and participate in age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities for the children in Child Watch and/or Summer Fun Club
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
