**Job Description**
BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer able to perform certified energy engineering responsibilities assisting in maintaining a steam plant and co-generation facility. Focusing on the energy management system to increase energy efficiencies at the 7,000-acre Radford Army Ammunition Plant that produces propellants for the Department of Defense.
Engineering Responsibilities:
+ Mechanical Engineer for Steam Plant and Energy Operations.
+ Participates as the lead team member of the BAE Systems Energy Management Team EnMS for continual improvement on the Energy Management System
+ Responsible for providing energy technical analysis, review, measurement, and verification on projects.
+ Provides technical analysis and review for performance monitoring or contracts.
+ Provides technical analysis/review for energy projects, providing project risk assessment.
+ Identify and establish working relationships with all necessary engineering, construction, facilities, operations, and procurement departments required to execute recommendations.
+ Perform building walk-through audits and identify energy conservation measures (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) in BAE system facilities.
+ Baseline knowledge in energy/utility accounting software.
+ Analyses data output for trends and/or any deviations that need further investigating.
+ ISO 50001 / 50001 Ready or equivalent and recognized energy management system experience required.
+ Creates and maintains training materials, presentations, and data on site progress of energy reductions / cost savings.
+ Interface with Plant Operations, Management, and others to meet energy objectives.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)
+ Have required experience to attain
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations and trouble shoot mechanical issues.
+ Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
+ Working knowledge of cost and savings studies and incorporating energy conservation measures.
+ Experience with energy or utility tracking and performance.
+ Able to obtain Security Clearance.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ CEP Certified Energy Procurement Professional
+ Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification obtained through the Green Building Council Institute (GBCI).
+ Experience with any of the following: Commissioning, Industrial Manufacturing, Construction Engineering, Electrical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, HVAC, or P.E.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $102200 - $173700

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
