Job DescriptionSTEEL DETAILER: Remote within Minnesota. GPAC is partnered with a well-established family owned and operated steel Manufacturing company to hire an experienced Steel Detailer to help take on the increasing work load. Our client company manufactures and installs structural, miscellaneous, and ornamental metal for the commercial and industrial construction industry. Due to continued growth our client company needs to hire a motivated talented steel detailer with strong computer skills and experience with Structural and Miscellaneous metals. As a Steel Detailer, you will be responsible for creating structural steel drawings for our fabrication shop and erection crews. Looking for someone who wants to grow with the company as there will be room for advancement. They are a family run company that has never laid anyone off, even during economic down turns. Their average tenure is around 13 years because of the environment that they create. While they offer a family culture they also understand modern times and allow their detailers to work remotely. Steel Detailing Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Detail shop fabrication drawings for structural beams, columns, stairs, handrails, and trusses.
- Generating a bill of materials for shop drawings
- Coordinate drawings from design to release for fabrication
- Working with project engineers to clarify approval drawings
- Review RFI's
- Ensuring drawings are in compliance with AISC standards of steel construction
- BIM modeling
Preferred Qualifications Experience
- AutoCAD, SDS/2, BIM modeling software
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Bluebeam. FabSuite / Tekla EPM (estimating/production software for structural steel fabricators)
- Background in steel construction
