Purpose Statement The job of the STEM and CTE Technology Specialist provides advanced level technical support and administration of building and district-level STEM and Career and Technial Education technologies. Essential Job Functions: - Advanced desktop support including repair of computing hardware (removal, repair, and replacement of assemblies, subassemblies and electronic components)
- Support classroom environments on a daily basis
- Provide guidance for defining and implementing a technology lifecycle schedule
- Maintain and manage STEM and CTE equipment and supplies
- Research and evaluate new technologies and methods to determine suitability for and impact on BCSC and best fit of classroom needs
- Assist department/division leaders with technical expertise when system modification or replacement is being considered
- Creation and ongoing maintenance of how-to documentation in print and video format for technical and non-technical audiences
- Be a technology consult through STEM curriculum for diverse age groups.
- Thoroughly vet and pilot technologies for STEM rooms to ensure they fulfill the need of the educational experience and integratie with other technologies and programs already in place.
- Assist in the coordination of the technical setup of robotics programs and competitions.
- Provide guidance in new and emerging technologies in STEM and Career and Technical Educaiton classrooms.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Basic knowledge and familiarity of STEM related tools including Robotics (VEX), additive manufacturing (3d printing), coding platforms, and other emerging technologies.
- Zenworks, SCCM or other desktop management system
- Basic knowledge of application virtualization
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and electronic operation. Ability to repair notebook and desktop systems - disassemble, assemble, and test notebook and desktop systems.
- Must read technical resources, create technical materials, and effectively present those technical materials to others.
- Must have project management skills.
- Performing multiple technical tasks and scheduling a number of sequential and concurrent activities.
- Flexibility in working and communicating with a variety of individuals and/or groups with varied cultural and educational levels.
- Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: being attentive to detail; flexibility to deal with frequent interruptions; meeting deadlines and schedules; working under time constraints, and prioritizing tasks.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards - Works in standard office and school building environments
- Occasionally works in confined areas (wiring closets) or other service areas of school building
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling 40-50lbs; some walking and standing may be required when traveling to customer locations and while working at a user workstation to resolve problems. Generally, the job requires 65% sitting, 20% walking and 15% standing.
- Occasional work on a ladder or lift to repair, remove, or install equipment
Qualification - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, Education Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in STEM education and/or Career Technical Education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, and community members.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers, networked mobile devices, Windows and Chrome operating systems, and network operations
- Computer and network certification preferred (A+, Network+, etc)
