Applicants should be confident and proficient in explaining concepts within their field to students. Potential tutors should feel comfortable working one-on-one or online with students. Tutors have the opportunity to become certified through the College Reading and Learning Association. The successful Candidate must embody the following:
- Completion of coursework in subject that will be tutored with satisfactory grades
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Word processing and basic computer skills
- Eagerness to work with a diverse student population
- For candidates who have not yet completed a degree, a minimum of one reference must come from an instructor in a STEM course that can speak to your level of academic achievement.
Must be able to work a minimum of 4 hours per week during business hours, or online in the evening. Minimum and Additional RequirementsAt least a Bachelor's degree with major or minor emphasis in content area
