STEM Tutoring Program Coordinator“Employment is with The Research Foundation for The State University of New York, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.”Description of Duties:The Learning Commons at the University at Albany seeks to hire a STEM Tutor Coordinator for the EXCELlence in STEM grant program. STEM tutoring facilitates student learning in large-enrollment STEM courses through small group sessions led by undergraduate peer educators. In this position, the STEM Tutor Coordinator will supervise undergraduate students, support evidence-based tutoring practices, and exercise regular and ongoing decision-making about the daily operations of the STEM tutor program.Minimum Requirements.Master's degree in education, STEM, or other related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organizationFamiliarity with the Supplemental Instruction modelKnowledge of evidence-based teaching practices including collaborative learning techniques, learning theories, and study strategies applicable to a college environment.Experience providing training and professional development using facilitative pedagogyExperience in developing and implementing successful student programDemonstrated experience and ability to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate undergraduate studentsExcellent organizational and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demandsAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Learning Commons teamDemonstrated experience and ability to collaborate constructively with campus partners and stakeholders, including undergraduates, graduate students, lecturers, faculty, and staffStrong written and oral communication skills and attention to detailA demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusionAt least 3 years of relevant experience in peer education program development or coordination in an institution of higher educationPreferred Qualifications:Experience conducting assessments and using data for decision-making and planningExperience engaging in strategic planning for a unit or programExperience working with a diverse student populationNote:Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role.Persons interested in the above position should submit a resume, three work-related references, along with a letter of application.
