ABOUT STEP
The Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress (STEP) Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca Family of Agencies located in Fairfield, CA. STEP provides intensive, short-term stabilization services to youth, ages 12-17, for an average of 10 days. Our goal is to reintegrate our youth into schools and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment.
YOUR ROLE
The Per Diem Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for prescribing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care delivered within their shift, and for utilizing the nursing process to provide assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation of client care within designated clinical areas. The Per Diem Nurse is responsible for meeting all regulatory documentation standards. The Per Diem Nurse participates in the multidisciplinary team, Quality Assurance, and Utilization Review activities. They act as a clinical role model and provide nursing consultation to staff within the assigned areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for quality clinical care on assigned shift
- Evaluates own practice and maintains consistent standards of care
- Collects and analyzes assessment data to formulate resident care problems, individualized outcomes, plans, implements and evaluates nursing interventions
- Provides all care required to be given by a RN on shift assigned
- Meets all regulatory and facility documentation standards
- Protects the dignity and rights of residents
- Provides culturally competent standards
- Provides leadership
- Collaborates with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-up
- Collaborates with Clinical Manager to ensure health and safety, infection control, resource utilization, and clinical and rehabilitative standards of care
- Communicates effectively with others and promotes teamwork
- Participates in nursing department, staff meetings and other facility activities
- Fosters professional development of staff on assigned shift
- Carries out functions and responsibilities as it pertains to giving orders and conducting evaluations of clients in restraint/seclusion as per Seneca Center Crisis Intervention Policy Section 8
- Facilitates the Recreational Group for the program
- Supports the milieu
- Coordinates and facilitates referral and intake process
- Assists with client transportation as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing
- CPR BLS
- Valid California Registered Nurse License
- Any other State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
- Valid California driver's license and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Preferred:
- Good communication, organization and leadership skills
- Psychiatric Nursing experience
Schedule:
- Per Diem:
- Mon-Fri 8am-4 pm (Solano, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara)
- Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm (Sonoma)
- Number of shifts will vary
- Travel is required to Sonoma STEP & at least two other STEP locations

- Starting $58.35- $60.85 per hour, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
