Job Title: Step-Up Omaha Director

Work Location: Hybrid Remote in Omaha, Nebraska

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary Step-Up Omaha Director to lead and manage the Step-Up Omaha! Program. Reporting to the Vice President of Community Collaboratives, the Step-Up Omaha Director will be responsible for developing long-term strategic partnerships; fundraising, piloting extended jobs initiatives, and representing the program with the media at community events and activities.

The Director will play a pivotal role with ensuring effective implementation and tracking/reporting outcomes and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Step-Up Omaha team with emphasis on expansion in South Omaha, Council Bluffs, and other areas.
  • Develop strategy and lead efforts to recruit, retain, and engage participants in the Step-Up Omaha! collaborative to increase the number of job opportunities available to youth and young adults on target with pre-determined growth goals.
  • Work with the Worksite Development Director to identify workplaces and worksites willing to hire youth and young adults.
  • Plan and host an annual fundraising event and recognition lunch or dinner with Step-Up Omaha partners, employers, funders, participants, families, and others.
  • Manage the production of reports to evaluate the progress and outcomes of the Step-Up Omaha! Summer Employment and year-round Employment and Entrepreneurship initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience coordinating and managing community-based initiatives and strategies preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience working within educational systems and community engagement.
  • Experience in building community consensus and coalition-building.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to many diverse audiences using relevant communication mediums.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel to local schools, community partners, etc. as required.
