- Job Description: The Central Services Technician is responsible for all task-based Central Services activities. Central Services activities include, but are not limited to: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, assembly and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and receiving and distribution of Central Services supplies. The Central Services Technician must be able to decontaminate and assemble surgical instrumentation using an automated Instrument Tracking System. Uses an electronic hand held ordering device and works with the Materials Coordinator to par, order, and replenish soft supplies in the surgical core, and CS packs storage area.
- Required qualifications:
- Provisional or Certified Registered Central Service Technician issued by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD)
- One (1) year related experience with surgical instrumentation in hospital Sterile Processing/ Central Services environment
- Materials management and/or supply chain experience
- Must have Robotics experience.
