It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste.JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSScheduled Weekly Hours: 40WORK SHIFT: All Shifts - Day / Mid / EveningJOB SUMMARY: A Sterile Processing Apprentice participates in an on-the-job training program which builds professional and occupational skills to become a Sterile Processing Specialist upon successful completion of the program.The term of the program is sixteen (16) weeks including Sterile Processing classroom instruction and 400 clinical hours of hands-on training, as assigned. After successful completion of the program, the Apprentice will move into a Sterile Processing Specialist position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeingFrequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reachingOccasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouchingEMPLOYMENTEach St. Tammany Health System staff member is expected to conduct himself or herself according to our mission, vision and values.
