Position Summary

The role of the Sterile Processing Attendant reports to the Sterile Processing Supervisor. This position is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of the Sterile Processing department.

Essential Position Responsibilities

* Maintain the Joint Commission cleaning document

* Partner with leadership to request necessary supplies, as needed

* Comply with proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment

* Collect and properly dispose of trash and waste material

* Dust high areas

* Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed

* Continuously monitor and replace sharps and reprocessing bins, as needed

* Complete weekly tasks from cleaning log

* Maintain daily cleaning log to ensure complete and accurate compliance with documentation

* Provide positive interactions with patients, visitors, and staff

Qualifications

* Education: High School Diploma or GED

* Licensure and Certifications: BLS required within 90 days of hire

* Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 100% of the time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
