Shoes, jewelry, hair & beard must be covered. Job Description: - Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and/or manufacturer instructions and follow department protocols. - Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures. - Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts. - Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination. - Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality. - Identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer. - Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels. - Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment. This role involves rotation through all areas, including decontamination, and requires standing for long periods. The position is part of a large, busy reprocessing center providing sterilization services for multiple facilities, with emergency services for the area also covered. Every other weekend work is required. Preferred experience includes 2+ years of handling STERIS Washers and Autoclave with IT System: SynergyTrak.
