Aspirus is currently seeking a STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to work in the SPD Department at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. The Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) decontaminates and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment while utilizing and adhering to established infection control standards, policies and procedures. The SPT maintains and documents sterilization process control records and assists in ordering department supplies and inventory levels. A focus on the needs of patients as end-users is expected as is fostering positive relationships within the department and Association. Hours: This position is Full Time; 0.8 FTE or 64 hours per pay period. Varied shifts, 7:30am-4:00pm, 9:30am-6:00pm, 10:30am-7:00pm, 12:00pm-8:30pm. Weekend call schedule is every 4th weekend. 2-3 holidays per year and 1-2 nights per week of on call rotation. Experience/Qualifications Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technician program. Sterile processing or surgical experience is preferred. Can organize work, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining quality in all situations including stressful and/or emergency situations. Possesses a positive customer service attitude with the ability to deal with customers in a courteous, confident, and efficient manner in person, on the telephone, and/or via e-mail. Able to function as part of a team and establish effective work relations with employees at all levels of the organization. Able to maintain strict confidentiality. Able to express ideas and information in a clear understandable manner to effectively teach and direct individuals.
