Job Description:
DescriptionWestern Wisconsin Health is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician (0.9 FTE) to join our Surgical Services department! Responsibilities include cleaning, processing sterilizing, recording, and storing of sterilized instrumentation and supplies for use during surgery. Performs routine departmental cleaning. All of this is done to support the organization's mission while living our values.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identifies equipment and supply needs
  • Effectively communicates with team members
  • Maintains and monitors the sterilization process and documentation
  • Maintains and monitors high level disinfection process and documentation
  • Maintains instrument inventory
  • Accurately prepares supplies for cases
  • Assists with Ordering and restocking supplies
  • Understands and demonstrates knowledge of proper cleaning and processing of instruments, supplies and equipment
  • Accurately prepares and packages instrument trays for sterilization
  • Decontamination all instruments and flexible scopes per manufactures instructions
  • Assists with researching and ordering instruments for providers/surgeons
  • Demonstrates awareness, understanding and respect of cultural diversity and patients of all ages and socioeconomic groups; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school or GED
  • Training, education, and/or work experience directly related to central supply room processing
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Sterile Processing certificate
  • 2+ years of related work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business and patient information
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently
  • Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities, able to acknowledge when commitments are not met, and take appropriate steps to fulfill responsibility
Work schedule:
  • 0.9 FTE - 72 hours per biweekly pay period
