Sterilization Technician
Full time, 36 hours per week

Job Overview:
The Sterilization Technician is responsible for keeping dental instruments clean, sanitized, organized and ready for use.
Duties:
* Familiar with and follows OSHA standards.
* Ensures that instruments are sterilized as soon as feasible as they are brought into central sterilization.
* Maintains the cleanliness and order of all areas of sterilization.
* Keeps accurate logs of spore testing. Uses the system in place to monitor and track the instruments through sterilization.
* Keeps the dental director apprised of any issues or concerns with equipment, supplies or procedures related to sterilization.
* Is responsive to special requests or needs of the providers with regard to instruments and handpieces.
* All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
* IAHCSMM sterilization certification. Must obtain within first 90 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in a healthcare setting. Education may be substituted for lack of experience.
