**Job Title: Sterilization Technician**

**Job Summary:** The Sterilization Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of dental instruments by operating sterilization equipment and adhering to regulatory standards. This role involves washing, bagging, sterilizing, and organizing dental instruments for various departments, while maintaining a high level of quality control throughout the process. The technician will ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, DPH, AAMI, and ANSI standards and provide support to students and staff as needed.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Wash, bag, and sterilize dental instruments using sterilization equipment with little to no supervision.
+ Organize and manage the collection and delivery of dirty and clean instruments.
+ Label and track cassettes and instruments, ensuring proper identification and organization.
+ Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and readiness.
+ Assist in the monitoring of sterilization cycles and quality control aspects of the sterilization process.
+ Provide guidance to students regarding sterilization procedures and equipment needs.
+ Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, DPH, AAMI, ANSI) to ensure safe and effective sterilization.
+ Ensure that all sterilization equipment is maintained and functioning correctly.
+ Collaborate with team members and other departments to support sterilization needs and improve workflows.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
**Qualifications:**
+ Certified Sterilization Technician or trained Dental Assistant with 1-3 years of experience in laboratory or dental support work (preferred).
+ Strong knowledge of sterilization procedures, equipment, and safety standards.
+ Ability to lift and move sterilization equipment and materials when necessary.
