3rd Shift - Stitcher/Folder Operator

Job Summary:
Complete the set-up, operation and maintenance of Bindery equipment including Stitchers and Folders while meeting quality and productions goals.
Essentials Duties:
- Coordinate pocket set-up of the Stitcher according to job specification
- Inspect books for quality throughout the stitching process
- Execute the complete process related to paperwork and forms
- Responsible for feeding pockets
- Assist with make readies (m/r) on all equipment
- Follows all safety procedures and protocol.
- Read and understand the job tickets, work orders, and all other documentation that pertains to each job.
- Interact with and direct the Stitcher crew to facilitate daily schedules.
- Understand and meets customer quality standards
- Ability to meet and/or exceed expected goals on make-readies, speeds, waste, and efficiency
- The ability to operate all necessary tools wrenches, gauges, tape measures, etc.
- Assist with the routine maintenance of equipment
- Other duties as assigned by management
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations.
- Must be able to effectively troubleshoot equipment
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must work well with others
- Must be flexible and open to change when needed
- Must have the ability to follow instructions
- Must be a proven self-starter to complete projects/work orders
- Must have the ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed
- The ability to occasionally work 12-hour shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-year bindery experience
- Basic small packaging knowledge
- Basic mechanical and mathematical aptitude
Physical Requirements?
- Prolonged periods of standing while setting up and operating equipment?
- Periods of bending, twisting, kneeling and squatting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.??
