STLP SCHOOL-BASED COACHLogan County School District Position Description: There will be one coach per school. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support and guide the students as they create projects, products or provide services to the school and community
- Act as the primary point of contact for the students to the district coordinators
- Act as the primary point of contact for parents
- Maintain communications with students who are working independently
- Facilitate the completion of registration forms within the deadline with the district coordinators
- Encourage students throughout the school to participate in STLP, this is NOT a stand-alone club
- Projects can be carried out before, during, or after school. Schools may integrate STLP projects into the school coursework. (Support integration through LEAP program with LEAP director.)
- Provide school-based support to district Digital Learning Coaches and Director of Communications
- May participate in training and annual events
Field Trips Mandatory
- Possible school-based showcase/celebration event (1-2 total)
- (Possible) October/ November day trip to Bowling Green for Showcase Regionals
- April (possible overnight trip) to Lexington for Showcase State
Etc
- Create, distribute, and collect permission slips
- Attend to the food and beverage needs of students at external events
- Bus requests, seating charts, and school-based needs for each out-of-district event
- Obtain and vet appropriate supervision of students if necessary (parents must have active volunteer status)
- Ensure that all district policies are followed
