Overview:
The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This role involves assisting residents with activities of daily living, monitoring their condition, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring proper nutrition and fluid intake.
- Assist with ambulation and transfers, promoting mobility and preventing falls.
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations) as directed.
- Report changes in resident condition to the nursing staff promptly.
- Assist with resident positioning and turning to prevent pressure ulcers.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for residents, including making beds and changing linens.
- Assist with meal preparation and serving as needed.
- Document resident care and activities accurately and timely.
- Participate in resident activities and social interactions.
- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid STNA certification.
- Ability to lift and transfer residents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Physical Demands:
