Scope and Purpose of Position The purpose of this position is to prepare and assign work ticket orders to processing trays for fulfillment of order, create a lens pattern for a non-stock frame using tracing equipment, and inventory non-stock frames received with orders into lateral filing frame organizer: Kardex. Essential Functions
- Receives electronic order from provider, prints the work ticket and folds using folding machine
- Receives hard copies of orders with enclosed frames from provider; issues new work ticket, assigns frames to trays with work tickets; labels frames to be put aside during lens processing
- Assigns order to tray using scanner
- Distributes trays to lens department according to lens material, prescription, and degree of finish required
- Maps tray to the order in DVI and gives to the frame tracers to trace
- Operates frame tracing machine to produce lens pattern for non-stock frames
- May be required to use computer to retrieve frame pattern from a previous linked order
- Pattern will be imported to work ticket and then re-printed
- Reprints work ticket for special instructions
- Receives incoming frames to be inventoried while order is undergoing lens surfacing process
- Scans frames and places into designated inventory slot
- Extracts frames from Kardex for assigned surfaced lens orders
- Scans order ticket for completed surfaced lens orders and retrieves frame. Scans frame out of Kardex system
- May mentor and coach other associates as needed
- Ensure and maintain the cleanliness of all equipment and workstation
- Practice and comply with all requirements of our Quality Management System (QMS), prescribed safety and hazardous materials handling procedures, and Federal/State laws regulating hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
Education & Experience
- High Diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience preferred
