Manages the store staff; production and sales; store maintenance; customer development; banking and record keeping procedures. Responsible for all day-to-day operations of assigned thrift store.

- Manage staff training and supervision. o Ensuring adequate staffing levels for optimum customer service.
- Oversees scheduling of staff, monitors accuracy and submits payroll for processing
- Ensure that all TSA policies and practices concerning employee relations are complied with.
- Promptly forwards all employment related paperwork to the HR Department at the ARC.
- Provided training, supervision and support to beneficiaries that are assigned to the store as part of their work therapy, and communicate with program staff about the beneficiaries' performance. -
- Implements strategies to meet production and sales goals. o Supervises the product acquisition (donation) processes, production (sorting, hanging, pricing and presentation) processes and sales processes.
- Supervises and is proficient in all parts of the acquisition, production and sales processes.
- Supervises the product rotation process and is diligent in turning product over.
- Communicates with central warehouse to place orders for next day's processing needs. Manages store maintenance and appearance of the store with regard to safety, security, cleanliness, appearance and utility.
- Ensures that the store is in compliance with all OSHA and Salvation Army safety and security policies and procedures.
- Checks to make sure displays and floor layout plans are being followed and updated.
- Identify and implement ways to improve appearance and appeal of store to customers.
- Implement Product Control Procedures preventing shrinkage through theft or spoilage.
- Promptly reports all maintenance or repair needs and issues to the appropriate personnel at the ARC. - Implements customer development and retention plans.
- Creates an enjoyable shopping experience. Interacts positively with customers, setting the example for all staff.
- Manages recordkeeping and reporting procedures for the store.
- Applies TSA approved cash handling procedures for opening and closing of registers.
- Manages the bank runs and nightly deposits procedures for the store.
Reports Store production and sales daily.
- Uses inventory tracking as needed.
- Communicates with the Regional Manager/Administrator regarding all facets of the stores operations keeping them updated and sharing all incidents, concerns and ideas; and with ARC Department Heads as outlined in training.
- In conjunction with the Regional Manager works to keep income and expenses within budget parameters.
- Manages cash handling procedures in accordance with TSA Policy.
- Must be available for a flexible schedule to work early shifts, late shifts, and most weekends, in order to observe and provide training to all store employees, as well as being prepared to transfer to other stores if the need arises.
- In conjunction with the store supervisor proactively works to improve the image of The Salvation Army among staff and in the community.
- Creates a positive understanding of policies and procedures.
- Redirects complaints and criticism, by providing education and understanding of the program and pricing.
- Protects the resources under their supervision.
- Implement Product Control Procedures preventing shrinkage through theft or spoilage.
- Control property, utility and product supply waste.
- All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education & Experience An associate's degree in business administration, retail sales or marketing is preferred; 2 years' experience in staff management and development or combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions:
- The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
- The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather.
- May stand for extended periods.
- Full-time position; will require weekend and evening hours.

Supervisory Responsibility:
- Train and supervise the store staff.
- Document and provide information requested about direct reports to Regional Manager for a personnel review.
- Review and approve time and attendance for store personnel using the current payroll system.
- Checks time logs regularly.
- Following all current regulations and trainings.
