POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Prior experience in retail or grocery store operations is required.
- Prior store management experience is preferred.
- A background in pet, retail, or grocery store operations is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all store team members maintain a customer service-oriented operation.
- Create employee schedules, assigning schedules and responsibilities to employees.
- Responsible for maintaining an acceptable gross profit, proper inventory management, and operations reporting of store activities.
- Order merchandise and prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.
- Coordinate sales promotion activities and prepares or directs workers preparing merchandising displays.
- Performs banking functions such as cash counting and deposit.
- Verify responsibilities and assignments are carried through in the store in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by Petsway.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing education for employees.
- Evaluate staff based on performance-based metrics.
- Directly supervise all store employees.
- Monitor and verify the vendor activity in the store.
- Recruit, interview, hire, discipline, and fire staff at the store.
