DescriptionEmployed by PAGNY for The Division of Correctional Health Services (CHS) of New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H) is responsible for the delivery of medical care, mental health care, and discharge planning in the jail system. Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. This service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, a strong DBT training program, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re- entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city.Responsibilities: Under supervision, is responsible for a section of a storehouse, storage yard, or equivalent storage unit. Responsible for the online ordering of PAR level supply items as well as delivering/stocking at all correctional facilities. Rotate stock routinely, removing and replacing expired items. Responsible for the ordering of standard stationary/delivering supplies to Correctional facilities. Ensures that PAR level rooms are adequately stocked at all times. Responsible for reporting any shortages in PAR level rooms to supervisor. Responsible for daily medications pick up and Bi-Weekly pick up of controlled drugs from Trailer 6 Pharmacy Packaging department and delivery to all facilities. Responsible for delivering new capital equipment (medical/furniture) from Materials Management to all facilities. Must be able to lift at least 70 pounds. Responsible for removing capital equipment deemed salvage from all facilities for proper disposable to CHS Queens. In conjunction with the Medical Records department, transports medical records from all facilities to CMRA (Central Medical Records Archiving- Trailer 7). Along with CMS Warehouse, conducts inventories of all medical surgical PAR level rooms as required once per year. Pick up labs twice a day. Delivers lunch for Grand Rounds meetings and other special events as per need. Transport interpreters on and off Riker's Island. Replace HIPPA shredding bins as needed to and from all Riker's island facilities. Deliver checks when necessary, and provide general mail services to all Riker's Island facilities. Provide off hours support services during extreme weather and other emergencies. Use of forklifts and pallet jacks when needed.
