Job Summary As the Storekeeper-Inventory Control Clerk for the Transportation Services Department, you will:
- Coordinate parts and material needs with mechanics, customer, and availability with vendors to order standard stock and non-stock items.
- Locate unusual or hard-to-find parts and improvises when items are no longer available.
- Use computerized systems to organize and maintain revolving parts inventory.
- Problem solving skills are used to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- In the absence of the service writer, works with customers regarding repairs, initiating work orders and assigning work to technicians.
- Coordinates activities associated with repair estimates and parts runs.
Education and Experience: - HS diploma/GED
- Three years' experience in vehicle parts procurement and/or inventory control and/or vehicle repair/maintenance is preferred.
Skills Needed: - Must have excellent oral communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Must have ability to follow directions and solve problems.
- Must have mechanical aptitude and demonstrated use of computers.
- Valid US driver license required.
