Job Description
- Responsible for receiving, storing, transferring, and rotating food and beverage items in accordance with food services policy and procedures and in accordance with Hartford and FDA food Code.
- Produces and distributes all necessary documents to support the receiving, storing, transferring or returning of any food and beverage items
- Audits incoming shipments and packing slips for quality and accuracy; identifies and refers inaccurate or unacceptable shipments to management and informs the Food & Beverage team of any order discrepancies or issues.
- Communicates all substitution information with the department supervisor, manager and/or clinical nutrition manager to ensure menu nutritional values and compliancy is maintained...
- Identifies and communicates items with low inventory and other department needs to department Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Assists with maintaining food production systems and assists with waste tracking
- Ensures appropriate product labeling and dating is maintained.
- Establishes and maintains order in the dry storage areas, food and non-food , as well as the coolers and freezers.
- Assist in the physical count of all inventory items.
- Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs and policies.
- Works extra shifts and hours as required.
- Assists in other departments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
A storeroom clerk within the food and Nutrition department is required to work with a team of people and work with efficiency. Responsibilities Knowledge of: In order to be a successful storeroom clerk, a candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision and be proactive. Some of their other essential skills include:
- Must be able to demonstrate strong customer service skills.
- Must have strong organizational solving skills and abilities
- Knowledge competency for using departmental equipment Data entry, math and computer skills
- Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications Minimum Education Required: None Preferred Education: High School Diploma, GED or Associate degree or certification in warehouse management through technical or vocational institutes, or online learning programs. Minimum Experience: None Preferred Experience: 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment, lifting, and working in a warehouse or restaurant setting.
