The Strategic Account Director delivers a singular interface to the customer for membership, as well as product and service coordination spanning various business units and product lines. The role entails stewardship of strategically significant accounts that possess the power to shape and mobilize entire communities. These customers serve as esteemed thought leaders and pioneers in their respective industry or market segments. Our client's market outreach also extends to encompass the most strategic suppliers within these communities, who, too, are regarded as influential thought leaders with the capability to influence their peers. The success in garnering adoption among these strategic accounts hinges upon the proactive leadership of this select subgroup of suppliers, who are instrumental in both swiftly embracing our initiatives and driving their influence among their peer networks.Formulates, executes, and oversees account strategies with the objective of cultivating robust, extensive, and enduring relationships. The primary aim is to secure subscription renewals, upgrades, and substantial new business revenue gains. Additionally, proactively identifies and engages potential demand side partners, such as retailers/marketplaces, across specified industries or sectors. This proactive approach leads to the generation of fresh revenue streams within the designated targets.Who You Are:You are a strategic thinker with the ability to link industry adoption efforts to key account planning, establish, sustain, influence executive relationships and decision making, and actively listen to customer needs, interpret those needs into a requirement set, and creatively deliver a solution for resolution.You are an excellent communicator (oral and written) and a strong relationship builder. You understand how to resolve customer business challenges using a solutions-orientation approach and can build credibility and become an effective and respected ally of other senior leaders both internally and externally. You possess business acumen and negotiating experience and presence. You are an expert at identifying, negotiating, and closing large sales, including commercial contracts. Your background consists of 10+ years of solutions and global sales experience and 5+ years in industries related to our key customer industries, Marketplaces, CPG/FMCG Grocery, Retail Apparel, General Merchandise, Healthcare, and Foodservice.You lead by example and demonstrate a bias toward action, results orientation, and a style conducive to teamwork.What You'll Do:Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages assigned accounts and develops and implements effective strategies to win and maintain their business.
- Provides strategic account management to key customer accounts (individual or groups of customers) to ensure products, solutions, and services support and drive short-term and long-term customer business objectives.
- Develops and executes account strategies.
- Leads regular account reviews to ensure relevance and impact of key account strategies.
- Develops, maintains, and enhances a high, wide, and deep relationship with assigned key accounts.
- Provides 'one face to the customer' for the company.
- Works to advocate the adoption of standards in the appropriate industry.
- Coordinates and consults with internal matrix partners to deliver the right solution(s) to solve specific customer problems and achieve customer business objectives.
- Identifies solution enhancements or innovations to best serve and anticipate customer/industry needs.
- Acts as the liaison between key customers and functional areas/business teams.
- Identifies and resolves account issues (billing, customer service, merger & acquisition activities).
This position requires 30% of travel to customer and other sites or events.What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years solutions and global sales experience
- 5+ years of experience in industries related to our key customer industries, Marketplaces, CPG/FMCG Grocery, Retail Apparel, General Merchandise, Healthcare, and Foodservice
