Job Overview:
We are looking for a Strategic Account Executive to join our Sales team. The Strategic Account Executive will be responsible for implementation of an effective marketing/sales plan that will enable the Company to meet defined strategic objectives to ensure growth and maintain profitability.
Qualifications:
* BS or BA Degree required.
* Minimum of three years proven sales or operations experience.
* Excellent work history within a sales/marketing or operations environment.
* Ability to integrate and analyze data.
* Travel required.
* Ability to plan and organize workload; flexibility to handle pressure and work with interruptions; and meet deadlines; attention to details
* Ability to work independently; initiative; self-starter.
* Strong computer/presentation skills
Responsibilities:
* Account Management-
* Calls on all decision makers and influencers at all shipping/receiving locations to promote growth and profitability in desirable traffic lanes.
* Identifies any underlying cost factors that impact profitability and negotiate increases/charges to cover these costs (fuel surcharges, accessorial charges, etc.)
* Coordinates all pricing/bid/contract issues and review with Vice President - Sales & Pricing to ensure understanding and approval.
* Territory Management-
* Maintains constant awareness of lane balance needs and directs efforts to continuously improve balance in major traffic lanes.
* Continuously look for opportunities to upgrade traffic in existing market lanes (balance traffic lanes with customer freight vs. broker freight).
* Gets credit approval prior to taking on any new business - establish payables up front.
* Stays aware of and proactively plans work schedule to anticipate the unique seasonal demands of selected customers.
* Marketing Functions-
* Coordinates regional sales needs through prospecting.
* Continuously looks for marketing publications that will serve as good lead source for prospecting efforts.
* Continuously attracts freight that will address driver retention issues (attract freight that drivers will want to handle).
* Continuously looks for new markets/services for development that will enhance core business and improve profitability.
* Other Focus-
* Informally poll external and internal customers on How we are doing and How can we improve our processes for better results?
* Demonstrates support to the Epes Transport System, LLC Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable.
