Job Description:
The Trader is a senior level position responsible for overseeing a trading book and managing book risk, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure book trades deliver on budgeted revenues, and to coordinate with key stakeholders to develop the trading franchise.Responsibilities:Oversee a trading book as a Senior trader and generate revenues and manage risk for the respective businessBuild and maintain a franchise and connect with key clientsLeverage transactional knowledge of the various financing transactions (Margin Loans, NAV Financing, LP Financing, Structured Prime, Hedge Fund Financing) and other derivative strategiesCoordinate with Sales, Structuring, and other organizations across Markets and Securities Services and the broader functional areasAppropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation.Design and implement various pricing methodologies, applying knowledge of financial engineering, statistics and calculus.Work with Quant teams to design next generation risk management models and tools.Work with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.Familiarity to cross asset product knowledge to execute FX spots/options, rates futures, interest rate swaps and other non-equity instruments to hedge non-equity risks.Familiarity with statistics and programming techniques including VBA, Python, and Excel to build risk management tools.Manage a book and deliver on budgeted revenues and manage overall financing and derivative riskAnticipate client demand in each respective product/market and facilitate large client tradesEstablish and maintain key internal and external relationships to deliver trades to the desk.Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethicsObtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframeBe familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities ServicesAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:7+ years of experience in a related roleIn-depth knowledge of respective products and clientsProven history of successful trading book managementRequired licensing and registrations - SIE, Series 7, 63, 3Advance analytical and numerical competencyConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationEffective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to analyze and pitch situations and determine suitable counterpartiesKnowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalitiesEducation:Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster's degree preferred------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Institutional Trading------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Trading------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:New York New York United States------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$200,000.00 - $300,000.00In addition to salary, Citi's offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
