Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.Essential FunctionsAssists and oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic emergency response plans and planning products including, but not limited to the Illinois Emergency Operations Plan (IEOP), Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA), Stakeholder Preparedness Report (SPR), etc.Works closely with federal, state, and local programmatic stakeholders to assist in the development of comprehensive Disaster Plans and Standard Operating Procedures for preparedness and response.Serves as the state lead for Continuity Planning for IEMA-OHS and subject matter expert for coordination and technical assistance to other state agencies and partners as directed.Coordinates the maintenance and revision of planning products underneath the authority of the Illinois Program Management Plan (PgMP) for purposes of maintaining EMAP compliance.Serves as a working supervisor.Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.Minimum QualificationsRequires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.Specialized SkillsRequires two (2) years of professional experience in the development and evaluation of exercises for public safety and emergency management.Requires the completion of coursework in emergency planning through a state emergency management agency and/or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).Preferred QualificationsTwo (2) years of professional experience in the development of response plans for public safety and emergency management.Four (4) years of professional experience in emergency management exercising program management.Two (2) years of experience in an emergency management position.Two (2) years of experience in developing emergency management response plans.Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) Certification from International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).Completion of coursework in emergency planning through a state emergency management agency and/or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).Conditions of EmploymentRequires a criminal history check through the Illinois State Police.Requires the ability to use state-supplied equipment such as cellphone, laptop, etc.Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
