Job Description:

LLHH is assisting our Newark, New Jersey client in their search for a long-term Strategic Sourcing Specialist on a contract basis. This role can last up to 2 years and is a great opportunity to join a tenured team with an excellent company culture. During the initial training period, the role will be fully onsite and then transition to a hybrid schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist departments with identifying suppliers for their procurement needs
  • Negotiate the lowest price for non-bid transactions
  • Interpret and communicate procurement policies and procedures to stakeholders
  • Request and analyze quotations and RFX results to ensure the best overall price
  • Support preparation and execution of RFXs and other key transactions
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to understand service capabilities, negotiate terms and conditions, and follow up on performance issues
  • Review and approve requisitions routed to the queue in a timely manner
  • Maintain a professional relationship between the client and suppliers
  • Communicate effectively with key client stakeholders to support meeting all fiduciary responsibilities and procurement needs
  • Ensure adherence and consistency with Client's policies, state, and federal regulations
  • Train and develop respective training materials for the Client's procurement systems, such as eProcurement and a travel management booking tool
  • Audit existing supplier files for compliance with federal and State of New Jersey regulatory requirements
  • Verify new or existing supplier files against state and federal databases for verification of supplier business status
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing team on organizational initiatives and reporting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply management, or related field (preferred)
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Certificate of Insurance and W9
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking
  • Minimum of 3 years' procurement experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to foster relationships with a diverse community
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • C.P.M. or C.P.S.M. certification (preferred)
  • eProcurement system experience- Client moving to Unipart
  • Team player
