The role
This individual contributor role provides support and sourcing expertise to the global transportation, distribution, trade compliance, sterilization, and logistics information systems category. This role is responsible for understanding customer needs, studying market trends, developing strategies and implementing, monitoring and revising sourcing efforts for the company's global logistic needs. This is a key role in enabling success for senior managers in all functions of the Global Supply Chain and supports cross functional efforts within the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Procurement Team. This position reports to the Associate Director, Procurement and requires strategic thinking and deep industry knowledge to build supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and manage those contracts for roughly 20 suppliers and $30-50M in company spend. Proven track record of leveraging initiative within matrix organization and ability to influence business partners across multiple levels within the organization.
Provides project management, sourcing and RFQ expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams.
Facilitates these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Avanos' position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost.
Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.
Negotiates contracts, develops strategies, establishes and monitors supplier agreements, designs contingency plans and ensures continuous improvement.
Manages strategic sourcing initiatives and strategies to reduce cost and improve service performance across multiple categories.
Builds & maintains relationships with important suppliers in the industry to ensure minimal business disruption and optimal customer experience.
Drafts detailed supplier contracts in conjunction with legal counsel, compliance and other key stakeholders.

Understand business cost reduction, growth initiatives, aggregating supplier volume, reducing pricing, and utilizing tools.
Work with (internal) stakeholders and develop market research for the various strategies.
Support regional sourcing base by communicating effectively across sourcing organizations, financial and legal groups to complete work assignments and to build partnerships in support of strategies for the assigned commodity area.
Communicate effectively with regional procurement and supply chain organizations, information technology, distribution, finance, quality, and legal to complete work assignments. Define methodologies and templates for others to be used. Help drive standardization in purchasing methodology.
Exchange information such as facts, statuses, ideas and issues to achieve objective.
Obtain global market condition information regarding categories and suppliers, to assist in the development of category strategies.
Benchmark with other companies to determine best overall practices for specific commodity areas.
Report performance to key metrics and project status as required.
Your qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of experience
Global Supply Chain experience
Distribution and Logistics experience
Experience negotiating contracts with 3PL's, Transportation Providers, and Sterilizers or similar strongly preferred
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Strong cross-functional collaboration
Strong presentation skills
Strong Excel skills
PowerBI skills
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Distribution of Med-Devices, Health Care or alternatively, high-tech
Strong experience with Global RFPs, contracts, negotiations, sourcing agreements
Strong experience in distribution/warehouse and logistics/transportation
Prior med device, pharma, life science
C.P.M.,CPSM, or CSCP Certification
Ability to perform in fast-paced environment
