Your expertise in street maintenance, repair, and operation of specialized equipment will contribute to the overall safety and functionality of our community. $23.07 - $25.47 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Up to a $5000 Sign-On Bonus!What we offer:

  • Vacation
    • On a sliding scale based on tenure with the City, 96 hours annual accrual for years 1-5.
  • Sick Leave
    • 96 hours annual accrual
    • Employees are permitted to use up to 16 hours per year of Sick Leave accrual as Personal Leave.
  • Longevity Pay
    • Sliding scale based on tenure with City (After 5 years of Service). Paid annually.
  • Bereavement Pay
    • 3 days per occurrence; up to 9 days per year with supervisor approval.
  • Shift Differential Compensation
    • o Additional hourly compensation for non-exempt employees working regularly scheduled hours between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
  • Weather & Emergency Closure Leave
    • Up to 8 hours of pay for a declared event for scheduled staff. Premium pay for essential staff required to work.
  • Tuition Reimbursement
    • A maximum of $1500.00 will be available to any one employee per semester (or semester equivalent).
  • Paid Holidays
    • 12 holidays plus one day for birthday.
    • Holidays are: New Year's, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.

For every 1 year employed by the City of Dickinson, the City will pay an additional 1% of your health insurance (If you're employed with the City for 20 years, your insurance would be 100% paid)

    • The City provides Term Life Insurance for employees & pays half the premium; Employee share is $5.61/month for $60,000 Life Insurance/AD&D.
    • Additional cost for insuring dependents; $.94/month for $5,000 life coverage for Spouse & $2,500 coverage for Children 6 months & older, $1,000 coverage for children less than 6 months.
